Holiday Adventure at Subang Jaya Medical Centre

18th February 2010 marked the 1st ever experience in our life to be admitted in a hospital. It all started with a high fever that we had two days before. After two visitations to our doctor, our fever still hasn’t subsided. This resulted to a decision by daddy & mummy to take us to SJMC for a thorough check up since it is located nearer to our house comparing to our usual Gleneagles MC.

At 3:30pm we reached SJMC’s ER and proceed for registration. This was the followed by blood pressure and body temperature recording by an attending nurse and was told to wait for our turn to be called for examination by the E.R doctor. The wait then begins....only an hour later (yes, you got it right…one hour later!!!) then only we were administered and advised by the doctor to be admitted due to our high temperature fever.

Okay, next is to get admission process done. Another queue begins from here on. If to wait to see the doctor was an hour, this admission took them 2 hour 45 minutes…you believe it or not?? Trust us, it wasn’t pretty!! During the wait, Fara’s temperature went as high as 40.5 deg/c and no one from that ER where we were still in did anything. Mummy was so terrified and had our maids running to wet towels for sponging…..did I tell u it was our own towel, infect??

After sponging, Fara’s temperature did not go down much but rather hovering about 39 plus. This has made everyone patients ran out then only we were called to be brought to BED 2 for I.V. insertions and finally Fara was given supp to immediate decrease her temperature . Then the I.V. episode begins….Fara passed with single attempt and unfortunately and painly twice for Sara on each hand.

Now it’s already 7.45pm and we finally brought to our room 526 on fifth floor South Wing….4 hour 15 minutes process all together. The room was two singles and overlooking the new elevated road linking Subang Jaya to Subang Airport. The nurse had told us the doctor would be coming in short after. The waiting rally finally reached an end when the pediatrician doctor; Dr. Khoo PC surface at 10:50 pm

What an interesting admission experience for us? So much so this is a private hospital but forgotten the numbero uno rule, patient to be well treated…medically and morally! This unsatisfactory experience of 4d 3n left much scars in our hearts and memories.
